Today’s Goals and Jobs – 4/13/2016

Here are my goals and the jobs I’m working on for 4/13/2016. I see some new people have been commenting recently. Thanks much to new and old commenters! Remember to follow me on Twitter to get more updates.

What’s Going On:

Well, I didn’t really have a goal because of the internet issues, but I still got a ton translated:

Hinata x Orochi C

Hinata x Orochi B

Hinata  x Orochi  A

Hinata x Orochi S

Ophelia x Shalla C

Ophelia x Shalla B

Ophelia x Shalla A

Kamui (M) x Sakura C

Ignis x Nyx C

Ignis x Matoi C

Asama x Mozume C

Nyx Skinship Lines

Shigure Skinship Lines

As well, big news! I got a request to do a second game, which is Angelique for the SNES/SFC. So obviously Fire Emblem Fates will continue to be the main attraction until it’s done. Once it is done, Angelique will be the main project, but until then, when I have some free time, I’ll be working on it in spurts, so as not to conflict with Fire Emblem Fates. Look for the first Angelique translations sometime soon.

Today’s Goals

  • Clear up older translations and incorporate feedback to edit them as well catch up on the site. I did a lot of translations while I couldn’t access the internet because the material is on my hard drive, but since I couldn’t access the site, I couldn’t correct older translations. I got a lot of feedback in those two days as well, so I thought I’d take a day to catch up on the backlog.

Possible Complications: Still got paying work to do.

How you can help out: Well, there was a bevy of new translations posted today. Any feedback and criticism is welcome!

Jobs I Need Done

  • I will always and forever need people to comment on my translations as much they can.
  • Vote! It’s spoiler free. If you’re waiting for the translation patch, these polls aren’t going to ruin anything for you.
  • Speaking of feedback, we had discusses before how to do translations of the different personality types for Kamui, the player character. I decided in the end to put notes at the end of the translation if it didn’t affect a lot of lines and to put all three personalities/politeness types together if there were many, many lines that got affected. Take a look at Kamui (M) x Sakura to see how I did it and let me know if that seems like an okay approach.

As always, there’s a page to discuss matter with others or contact me about how they’d like to help out with the Fire Emblem Fates project. It’s been updated to a new page for April. You can use that page for April to discuss things with other members in a more general nature. Thank you for all the people who contacted me or contributed so far! Much love and respect! As well, don’t forget there’s also a page for you to request any kind of Japanese information you need, regardless of whether it’s about Fire Emblem Fates or not. This page has also been updated for April.

Fire Emblem Fates Support Conversation: Ophelia x Shalla A

Please Note: The following material obviously spoils some of the story of Fire Emblem Fates. Please read responsibly at your own risk and don’t piss and cross the streams. The Ghosbusters told me not to.

Here’s the support conversation between Ophelia x Shalla for the A level. (Original Japanese is included for reference and better transparency.)

Comments? Questions? Criticisms? Want to let me if I made a typo or if a better approach would work somewhere? Let me know in the comments below.

Translation start:

Ophelia: Oh, Shalllla!

Shalla: Ophelia … why are you grinning some silly loon? It’s revolting … /

Ophelia: You can say whatever you like. I’m in the loveliest of moods right now, so it’s not going to get to me.

I mean look! /

Since our last purification, it’s been three days and nothing’s happened to me.

Shalla: … And? それで?

Ophelia: This means that my power has won out over your curses, doesn’t it?

I knew that somehow yellow diamonds would be good.

And the path of the stars on the day purification was just right, so it was perfect. Yes, that’s it.

Shalla: … Or I just got so fed up with you and stopped casting curses. /

Ophelia: And I’m saying THAT was because of my powers of purification. Ahahahaaa ♪ /

Shalla: *sigh* … I don’t think I can put up with your stupidity any more.

Ophelia: Oh my, going already? /

I thought we’d have a chance to speak of magic and the power of stones. /

Shalla: Okay. If you really want something with magic power, I’ll give you this.

Ophelia: Is this a charm? Thank you! I shall treasure it.

Shalla: … Are you not suspicious that I’m going to use that to curse you?

Ophelia: Well you’ve already been purified, haven’t you! Nothing like that could happen now!

Shalla: Oh praise the gods. /

Ophelia: Gods or not, it’s all good. See you later! /

Shalla: ………… /

But to think that someone like me would prepare a luck charm for somebody … /

Maybe I really was purified … /

There’s no way it could be because of that charlatan’s magic or tools though … /

Ophelia: Hm? Did you say something. /

Shalla: Nope. Just mumbling.

Ophelia: Oh? /

Well, if you get possessed by a wicked aura again, just call my name. /

Just like that, I shall purify you.

Shalla: … I’ll think about it.

Translation end!

Translation notes: When Shalla says 付き合ってられない (tsukiatterarenai) she’s not just using a regular verb, but rather an expression of exasperation that has a heavy connotation that the person you’re speaking to is mentally deficient, too annoying to be tolerated or otherwise just a complete moron. It’s not a very nice expression at all and it’s almost used when someone is tired of having to deal with someone else’s shit. I’ve even heard it mentioned as a last line before a friendship ends. That’s why I translated it like that. Also, when she says “praise the gods,” she uses a word that was often meant that you’ve been blessed by the gods and yes, these days, it means “congratulations” or “good wishes,” but Shalla uses it in its older, more religiously oriented form. In any event, if you’ve got some feedback or constructive criticism, let me know.

Ophelia: Wait a minute, this is … all wrong! All wrong! Completely wrong! /

Shalla: … You talking to me?

Ophelia: Of course! Who else is here?

Shalla: Okay …… /

Ophelia: Aiiiieee! Wait! Wait just a minute! /

Shalla: … What? なに?

Ophelia: You don’t just go away when people are talking to you!

Shalla: But I don’t want you to talk to me …

Ophelia: But aren’t you worried about what I’m saying is all wrong? /

Shalla: Not really …… /

Ophelia: Arrrrgggg! I thought I told you to wait!! /

Shalla: What the hell is wrong with you …

Ophelia: Ohhh …… so you’ve finally decided to hear me out.

Shalla: … I haven’t, but if you’ve got something to say, spit it out now.

Ophelia: What I said was all wrong was the aura that surrounds you!!

Shalla: Oh, is that it …

Ophelia: Didn’t I tell you not just to walk away! Our discussion is NOT OVER!!

Shalla: … Got something else to say? /

Ophelia: I’m just getting to my point! /

I Ophelia, will work to the limits of my magic to graciously purify your stagnant aura. /

Shalla: Purify is it? ……

Ophelia: What? Did you just laugh? Perhaps I’ve stimulated your interest? /

Shalla: … I have none whatsoever, but if you think you can do something, just try and come at me.

Ophelia: Yes! /

Well now, I must prepare things, so you will come to my room later. /

Shalla: My aura, huh … /

Her power, or my curses, perhaps we’ll see which is stronger. /

Ehehehehe … this should be fun … /

Translation end!

Translation notes: This will be spoilers, but don’t say I didn’t warn you at the top, but if you’ve played Awakening, you’re well aware of why Shalla/Tharja is someone who shouldn’t be trifled with. Ophelia is being her usual princess-like self here. So far there’s not much in the Japanese to take note of, other than Ophelia doesn’t actually say her name, but the grammatical construction amounts to the same type of expression in English, so that why I used that. But if I’ve screwed up the English somewhere, please let me know in the comments below.

Fire Emblem Fates Support Conversation: Ophelia x Shalla B

Please Note: The following material obviously spoils some of the story of Fire Emblem Fates. Please read responsibly at your own risk and don’t piss on my head and tell me it’s erotic. It’s not. It’s disgusting.

Here’s the support conversation between Ophelia x Shalla for the B level. (Original Japanese is included for reference and better transparency.)

Comments? Questions? Criticisms? Want to let me if I made a typo or if a better approach would work somewhere? Let me know in the comments below.

Translation start:

Ophelia: Shalla! /

Shalla: Oh my, Ophelia. Ehehehe … what’s with the tousled hair? /

Ophelia: … So it was you.

Shalla: What could you be talking about?

Ophelia: Don’t play the fool! /

Since we last talked, I’ve tried many times to purify your aura, but …

Each time, from the next day for five days straight, I’d be troubled with horrible shoulder cramps, /

For two days, I would be the only one whose soup would taste incredibly spicy, / 2

And now, it’s been three days since I got this tousled bed hair I can’t fix … /

All of these are your curses! /

Shalla: … If that’s true, so what? Have not understood yet? /

Your magic power of “purification” or whatever cannot stand to my curses. /

So stop bothering me.

Ophelia: That will not be happening! /

Shalla: … What? え?

Ophelia: If that really is the case, then it’s all the more necessary to purify you.

Because your dirty aura is giving birth to curses. /

If I can’t do it with the obsidian I used, then next time I’ll use amethyst … /

Shalla: … Ophelia, wait … /

Ophelia: I absolutely will not relent! /

All right then, you shall come to my room later. /

Shalla: … Oh brother, how long is this going to continue, I wonder. /

Translation end!

Translation notes:  Of course, I’d be happy for any feedback or constructive criticism on any area in the comments below, but the hardest part was to find a natural way for Ophelia to talk about what’s been happening to her in terms of time and days with the curses.

Today’s Goals and Jobs – 4/8/2016

We’re heading for the weekend! Here are my goals and the jobs I’m working on for 4/8/2016. Thanks for all your help, guys! Remember to follow me on Twitter to get more updates.

What’s Going On

I did meet met my goal of getting at least five support conversations a day done, but sadly no Skinship. So another day of rather mediocre results. The conversations are as below:

Foleo x Shigure C

Deere x Ophelia C

Kagero x Setsuna C

Orochi x Takumi C

Eponine x Shinonome C

Today’s Goals

  • Keep on chugging, 5+ supports and as much Skinship as I can
  • Those name polls for Marx and Elfy, I need to get to them.

Possible Complications: Gotta keep that real-life workflow flowing.

How you can help out: Feedback, criticism and votes, as always! You can see updates for all the changes I’m making in the Changelog.

Jobs I Need Done

  • If you see a translation page with no comments on it, why not take a brief look? If you see something to fix, tell me about it. If not, say, “This looks good. Didn’t find any problems,” or something to that extent. I do wait a while before I correct and edit translations just to make sure I don’t ignore anyone who comes along to comment, but I do get around to them!
  • Vote! Come on guys, it’s not that hard to click on a straw poll and choose an option! There are no spoilers.
  • I’m going to continue to request help for the method of doing in-page links, because nothing I’ve tried so far is working!

Fire Emblem Fates Support Conversation: Deere x Ophelia C

Please Note: The following material obviously spoils some of the story of Fire Emblem Fates. Please read responsibly at your own risk and would you like them on a boat, would you like in a moat? Why won’t you green eggs and ham?

Here’s the support conversation between Deere and Ophelia for the C level. (Original Japanese is included for reference and better transparency.)

Comments? Questions? Criticisms? Want to let me if I made a typo or if a better approach would work somewhere? Let me know in the comments below.

Translation start:

Deere: I’m thirsty. Shall I brew some coffee? /

Ophelia: *sniff sniff* … Such a lovely scent. /

Deere: Ophelia. Want to drink with me? If you want, I can make you some.

Ophelia: Regrettably … I’m not in the mood for such things right now.

Right now, what my body needs is that born from life of the leaves, that amber miracle … /

Deere: What’s that? I don’t have any of that …

Ophelia: It means I don’t want to drink coffee, I want to drink tea! /

Deere: You should have said so from the beginning. What are you on with your amber miracles … /

Okay, I’ll put on some tea. I’ll prepare it now, so wait a bit. /

Ophelia: I can’t wait. I feel like I’m wandering through the halls of eternity. /

Deere: Here you go, it’s done. It’s hot, so be careful. /

Ophelia: Thank you. Cheers. /

……….. /…………

… W-what is this? / …

Deere: … What’s wrong? Did it taste funny?

Ophelia: This fragrance that plucks at my nasal cavity … /

It’s as if thousands of flower blossoms were riding on a southern wind … /

… There can be no doubt. /…

This is the tea … it is the tea for the chosen one, worthy of the legend. /

Deere: What the hell? Legend? /

It isn’t that big a deal … it’s normal tea, through and through.

Ophelia: I really do think you are the chosen on, I mean you were made the legendary tea … !

Deere: So am I to be ignored am I …

Ophelia: Fabulous, Deere. I shall bless your name for this miracle. /

But … do not treat fate lightly. You must hold fast to the road of improvement from here on.

Deere: … You’re a strange one, you are.

Translation end!

Translation notes: Ophelia’s flowery language is in sharp contrast to Deere’s almost slum/street rat-type of speaking and I tried to portray that as much as possible. If you’ve got some ideas how to do it better, I’d be delighted if you let me know! Do so in the comments below!
