Please Note: The following material obviously spoils some of the story of Fire Emblem Fates. Please read responsibly at your own risk and don’t you meme me, young man.
Here’s the support conversation between Gray and Ignis for the C level. (Original Japanese is included for reference and better transparency.)
Comments? Questions? Criticisms? Want to let me if I made a typo or if a better approach would work somewhere? Let me know in the comments below.
Gray: Okay, now if I just mix up the eggs and add some sugar … /
Gray: Hm … I feel a presence. Hey, who’s there? ？
Ignis: It’s me, Ignis. /
Gray: Tsk, don’t surprise me like that. What do you want? /
Ignis: Nothing. /
Gray: There’s no way you want nothing. I can feel that incredibly intense stare of yours. /
Gray: Ah, I see, I think you were drawn here by the rich smells of baking sweets. /
But it’s going to take a little while till its done. Wait your turn. /
Ignis: No … I don’t particularly want to eat your sweets. /
Gray: Oh? Then what?
Maybe you came to get some of the other provisions in the kitchen? /
Ignis: Nope … not for that either. /
Gray: Then WHAT is it? If you’re just passing through, there’s no need to stand there looking intimidating, is there?
Ignis: Ah, you’re right … sorry I bothered you …
Gray: ………… /
His gaze was very obviously directed toward my sweets, but …
Maybe he’s got a surprising amount of willpower? Or maybe there’s something else going on?
Translation notes: I’ve said this in a comment elsewhere in response to some very observant criticism, but sometimes the question mark in Japanese is just used to denote somebody wondering or not sure about something and doesn’t actually translate into a question, so that’s why sometimes you see I’ve translated it as a statement and not as a question, as in several cases in this conversation.
If you want to see the goofy Nintendo translation, the Fire Emblem fans at Serene’s Forest have transcribed the official translation of this conversation here.
Changelog: 4/6/2016 Due to brain feedback from RyanoftheStars, the misspellings of Ignis’s name have been corrected.
