Translation start:

Kazahana: Ah, Felicia! Here you are!

Felicia: Kazahana-san … /

One look at your face tells me that perhaps you’ve reached enlightenment on the matter of master and servant relationships? /

Kazahana: Ahaha … no that’s not it.

I thought through it and reached a conclusion, but I’m just gonna come out straight with it …

Felicia: O-okay … /

Kazahana: Honestly, it’s whatever, isn’t it?/ カザハナ: 正直、何でもいいんじゃない?

Felicia: Whaaat … !? /

Kazahana: Ahaha.  I’m not that smart you know … no matter how much I worried about it, I just couldn’t come up with a straight answer. /

Then, in the midst of thinking about, I thought you know what, all this thinking is useless. /

Felicia: And after thinking and thinking, that’s the conclusion you came to?

Kazahana: Yep, after all …

Our lords are our friends, our family, our comrades in battle … and none of those are necessarily wrong. /

So the only way to go about it is accept it all.

Felicia: Kazahana-san … /

Kazahana: But that doesn’t mean we have to be self-conscious around them. I mean to us, our rulers are …

Someone we can depend on with our trust … someone who will lead us down the path we believe in …

They’re the type of people who naturally have us depending on them, don’t you think? /

Felicia: The path we … believe in?

Kazahana: Yeah, you believe your master is someone you can trust, /

and also someone you can depend on when it gets right down to it, right?

Felicia: Y-yes … of course! /

To Kamui-sama, I extend the full measure of my trust! /

Kazahana: Yeah yeah, you see I think that’s good.

To continue to depend on and trust them until the very last moment when our lives are spent. /

I think that’s the long and short of a master and servant relationship. /

Felicia: A partner you can trust and depend on … that’s the long and short of a master and servant relationship. Of course … it must be that.

I feel a little, relieved … /

They don’t have to be limited to relationships like family and friends … they’re trusted partners who are everything overlapped together in one … /

I really do think it best to think of it this way!

Kazahana: Right, and that’s precisely why we’re willing to offer up our lives for our masters, don’t you think? /

Felicia: Yes, just as you’ve said!

Kazahana: That’s why I think the two of us should vow to believe in our lords and fight through whatever comes!/

As their retainers … to believe our masters until the end! /

Felicia: Yes, of course! Kazahana-san, thank you so much!

Kazahana: Don’t mention it. Thank you for helping me realize something important, Felicia! /

Translation end!

Translation notes: Because they’re referring to a lot of different things when they say things like 主君 (shu-kun), I tried to include a lot of different words to reflect the many dimensions of what they’re talking about, such as lord, master, leader, ruler, liege, etc. As well, I wonder if I should have Felicia refer to Ms. Kazahana in the translation, even though one usually doesn’t translate -san endings, she’s so polite and it’s such a part of her character to refer to others with polite monikers, perhaps it’s best if I do so? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!

If you want to see how Nintendo added some stuff that wasn’t there in the original, even though they had no need to, the Fire Emblem fans at Serene’s Forest have transcribed this conversation here.

Changelog: 8/18/2016 The translation has been updated with some changes to reflect the Japanese honorifics of the Byakuya and to clean it up a little bit. Where the meaning has been changed, the original version 1.0 lines can be found below:

Felicia: Ms. Kazahana …

Felicia: Ms. Kazahana …

Felicia: I extend to Lord Kamui the full measure of my trust!

Kazahana: To continue to depend on and trust them until the very last moment when our lives are spent.

Felicia: Yes, of course! Ms. Kazahana, thank you so much!
